Singapore District Guide

Singapore is divided into 28 postal districts and comprises of 3 market segments; namely Central Core Region (CCR), Rest of Central Region (RCR) and Outside Central Region (OCR).

Central Core Region - It comprises of postal districts 9, 10, 11, Downtown Core and Sentosa.

Rest of Central Region (RCR) - RCR refers to the rest of Central Region which are Bishan, Bukit Merah, Bukit Timah, Central Area, Geylang, Kallang, Novena, Marine Parade, Queenstown, Southern Islands, Tanglin and Toa Payoh.

Outside Central Region (OCR) - OCR refers to the planning areas which are outside the Central Region.

Future Developments of Sembawang / Yishun

North-South Expressway

The North-South Expressway (NSE) is Singapore’s eleventh expressway. It will run parallel to the Central Expressway (CTE). Advance works have started progressively from 2013 and major construction works will start in 2015. The NSE will connect the city centre with towns along the north-south corridor—Woodlands, Sembawang, Yishun, Ang Mo Kio, Bishan and Toa Payoh—via 16 in-ramps and 17 out-ramps. With the NSE, motorists travelling between the north and the city centre can expect to save up to 30% of their travel time during peak hours. 

Yishun to the City

Today – 30 to 35 minutes.

With the NSE – 20 to 30 minutes.

Yishun Integrated Transport Hub

Residents can look forward to a new commercial and residential development integrated with an air-conditioned bus interchange, as well as the first Community Club located in a shopping mall, sited conveniently opposite the Yishun MRT station.

New Industrial Clusters

Two new industrial clusters at Gambas Avenue and upcoming development of Woodlands Regional Centre and North Coast Wafer Fab Park nearby will provide jobs for residents.
